Colombia’s Housing and Community Development Commission, HCDC, will hold a public meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday to discuss needs and services related to homelessness and homeless populations at risk.
The city recently received funding of $ 2,161,654 through the American Rescue Plan – separate from the $ 25 million it is expected to receive from the American Rescue Plan Act – to help these populations. The funds will be administered through the HOME investment partnership program of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.
Eligible HOME-ARP projects include non-collective shelters, rental housing development, tenant-based rental assistance, and support services.
According to a press release, these projects should “primarily benefit families and people who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless and those fleeing or trying to flee situations of domestic violence, sexual assault, criminal harassment or trafficking in human beings “.
13th Circuit Judge Tracy Gonzalez has extended the stay of eviction orders in Boone County until September 15. However, since the local extension was lifted, there has been an increase in eviction cases, the Missourian reported.
The meeting will be held in the boardroom of the Daniel Boone City Building, 701 E. Broadway.
