Easter Seals Sudbury welcomes new Community Engagement Officer

MJ Pappin will plan and oversee local events, as well as fundraising to help children with physical disabilities find greater independence, freedom and dignity

Easter Seals Ontario has announced that MJ (Mary Jessica) Pappin is the newest member of the Sudbury/North Bay regional team. Pappin, who is originally from Northern Ontario and returned to Sudbury 20 years ago, will take on the role of Community Engagement Officer.

Pappin earned an Honors BS in Kinesiology at Lakehead University in Thunder Bay at Lakehead University before earning his BS from Logan Chiropractic College in St. Louis, Missouri.

Returning to Sudbury more than 20 years ago, Pappin said in an Easter Seals Ontario statement that she loved owning a marketing and business development company, building relationships within the community. “Raising two little boys in Sudbury with access to the Northern Ontario lifestyle is what brought me home after graduation and currently being part of this amazing Easter Seals team knowing that the work they do across Ontario is so rewarding,” said Pappin.

As the new Community Engagement Officer, Pappin will plan and oversee local events, raising funds to give children with physical disabilities greater independence, freedom and dignity, made possible through the generosity and dedication of donors, sponsors, local service clubs, volunteers and staff. .

One of Pappin’s first events will be the inaugural Sudbury Celebrity Hockey Classic, taking place Oct. 21 at the Gerry McCrory Countryside Arena. The Easter release says Pappin is no stranger to hockey, as she is the mother of two and the daughter of Jim Pappin, best known for his game-winning goal the last time the Toronto Maple Leafs won the Stanley Cup. .
