City hires a director of community development – Farmville


The Town of Farmville is pleased to announce the hiring of Leander N. “Lee” Pambid as Director of Community Development.

Leander N. “Lee” Pambid

Pambid has over 20 years of experience in planning and community development. His experience began as a zoning administrator in his hometown of South Boston. In this role, he oversaw the planning and subdivision area and worked with the Virginia Main Street program through Destination Downtown South Boston. Pambid has also worked in Henrico County as a County Planner where he has experience in “town and dress” relations with the University of Richmond.

He comes to Farmville from the city of Strasbourg as planning director and zoning administrator. Pambid previously did his military service as the United States Navy. He holds a BS in Urban Studies and Planning and an MS in Urban and Regional Planning from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MS in Public Administration from Virginia Tech. Pambid has achieved the following certifications: Certified Zoning Administrator, Certified Planning Commissioner, Certified Zoning Appeal Board, Public Meeting Facilitator, and Cart Planner.

Pambid’s first day with the town of Farmville will be December 13th. As Director of Community Development, he will oversee the areas of Planning and Community Development, Farmville Area Bus and Farmville Regional Airport.
