CEO of Arundel Community Development Services to retire – Conduit Street


On August 30, 2021, Steuart Pittman, Executive Director of Anne Arundel County, announced the retirement of Kathleen Koch, Executive Director of Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS). His retirement will take effect on December 31, 2021.

The Pittman County Executive praised Executive Director Koch, saying, “Kathleen Koch’s dedication to the people of Anne Arundel County serves as a role model for all leaders in our county… Her creativity in resolving complex issues and her tireless work ethic embodied our goal of making Anne Arundel the best place for everyone.

According to a departmental press release:

Ms. Koch became the founding Executive Director of ACDS in 1993, and her tenure enabled the organization to engage in revitalization efforts in communities across the county, including Bacontown, Galesville and Brooklyn Park. During the pandemic, ACDS’s eviction protection work helped keep residents in their homes when faced with economic hardship caused by COVID …

Under Ms. Koch’s leadership, ACDS has created and preserved over 3,000 affordable rental housing units and developed a model property rehabilitation and homeownership program. In 2013, Ms. Koch was named Housing Personality of the Year by the Maryland Affordable Housing Coalition in recognition of her statewide efforts to promote affordable housing.
