Argyll and Bute Council have developed a planned community engagement program to discuss and co-develop proposals to improve school leadership in the region.
Following the decision of the Community Services Committee in June 2021 that Argyll and Bute Council would undertake a broad consultation process, this process is detailed in the attached plan.
This in-depth, open and accessible consultation process will be central to the development of education transformation agenda proposals before they are presented to the Community Services Committee.
The Education Transformation Council will develop proposals on school leadership transformation informed by this consultative process, listening to all stakeholders, from parents, students and communities to education professionals, unions and policy makers across Argyll and Bute.
Councilor Yvonne McNeilly, Education Policy Officer at Argyll and Bute Council, said: “The best outcomes for our young people are at the heart of everything we do. We are a Council that listens to our communities and this proactive engagement program will be at the heart of our decision-making.
“We very much welcome the views and ideas of our communities and look forward to seeing their vision for the future of educational services at Argyll and Bute.
“To provide the best for our children and youth, we must take positive steps to provide a sustainable education service. This expanded engagement program is one such positive action. “
